Marie Antoinette movie

The movie Marie Antoinette by Sofia Coppola has been a huge inspiration to me. I watch it occasionally on my computer, never with husband in sight as he doesn't like it at all...Too much pink I guess;) For me this is the ultimate indulgent in color and style. Never mind that the story is a bit so and so. Do you like it?

I'm a fan of this movie too :) There is so much pink. Probably not much of a man's movie. But thats okay there is lots of things my husband watches that I don't.
Hope you are having a lovely weekend.
Hugs~ Kim

Do I like it?????? I absolutely LOVE this film it has been a wonderful insparation and I hace spent an awful lot of time working on the theme a year ago. Even though I was still experimentin a lot with minis and dolls, it was a pure delight to be inspired by the magical colours of the film. Just like you, I watch very often. The Ladurée touch plays a big part in the film too ;-).
Huge mini hugs to you Christel.

Love this movie. It is so lady-like pink, you want to just dive in! I think I'll have to watch it again.

One of the first films that Sofia Coppala directed is the "Virgin Suicides". Completely different look but has the same ethereal quality. Also has Kirsten Dunst.

You know, I've never actually seen it, and I think I have to -- those costumes and settings are gorgeous and I really like Dunst and Coppola.

Yeah, it'll probably be a movie I watch on my own (although David loves costumes) -- just as I watch Pretty Woman every year or so totally on my own with popcorn and a completely uncritical mind :)

Christel it has to be one of my favourite movies I have it on DVD and I feel a real affinity with the MA as portrayed in the movie. It is a visual feast and so inspirational for Francophiles.

I love the movie, it's a feast for the eyes. I'll never ever get over the fact that Kirsten Dunst got to lounge about Versailles in those dresses. Absolutely mind-boggling to me!

nope don't like it. It's just too much and a rather silly movie. I'm with your husband :D

But it's good to have inspirational movies or books to watch and re-watch! So enjoy it :)

hugs!

I love seeing my favorite movies in complete solitude, just to have no trouble and people who snort in front of the love scenes and pink!
I love this movie and I once tried to wear white socks with blue garters ;-)

one of my favorite movies just because of the beautiful sets, the beautiful costumes and ohhhhh the food- it's like a dream ♥

My hubby doesn't care for it either, but I don't really care for action movies, so it evens out :)

It's a visual treat, never mind the plot line.

Have you ever been to Versailles? Le Petit Trianon and le Domaine de Marie-Antionette are spectacular.

Been to Versailles twice but never inside...Lol, too many people standing in line. Next time I will go inside. Beautiful place.
